Here's where Abernaith spouts off garbled nonsensical musings that may or may not appear to be reviews--for books, movies, music and also fanfiction, which she highly recommends the reader to try. Do bring your brains for this one, kiddies, and make sure you're over 18, please. Else, you may scoot off to a friendlier (or less snarkier) site where rainbows and ponies abound.
Have a nice day!

MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION BY THE END OF THIS MONTH
The Reading Cat is now almost two years old. It is a pleasant surprise really, as I didn't think I'd be able to maintain this wiki for more than a year. But it just kept growing and growing, owing largely to my reading list, which is the main purpose for keeping this wiki in the first place. Now, as my reading list cannot stop growing, I am beginning to think that I should re-organize it for easier access to some basic categories, such as Classics and Fantasy, with sub-categories in Science Fiction, Historical Fantasy, and Speculative Fiction.
I'm also thinking of making changes to the front page. I checked out PBwiki's Blog the other day, and I was very interested in their layout. It's just the type I've always dreamed of making myself (s'why I tried my hand in CSS, though I had to abort my attempts after a few tentative trials due to other priorities encroaching in my life). I realize that it's really, really hard to maintain a wiki this big all by your lonesome and especially to keep it up-to-date once a week (a goal I don't think I will be able to accomplish anytime soon), but anything that can make uploading (and life, in general) easier is a welcome solution.
You are all welcome to nag at me with your comments, criticisms, suggestions and/or violent reactions. Or, you could drop by my new guestbook c/o the beautiful people of Ur I.T. Mate Group. Thanks!

I'm awfully sad to hear that Robert Jordan died last September 17. I only heard about it now. If it were not for him, I wouldn't have read or had a crush on Mat Cauthon. It was evident in all his books how deeply he loved his characters, and that above all allowed his fans to love his books. I would have wished that he could have finished at least the twelfth book before kicking the bucket, but really, knowing that he had been suffering greatly in the past few years while still writing, still pursuing the craft with sincere pasion, I would like to think that what was really best for him, what he really deserved was peace.
Music I am listening to: Antony & The Johnsons - Just One Star
Today's message is brought to you by Abernaith's Medieval Baby Crackers. "Now comes with new and improved designs: Baby Dragon, Baby Ogre, Baby Hag and Puss-in-Mittens" Wanna read more? Check out more of Abernaith's random ravings and blatherings in the N.A.D.B. (Not Again) Archives.
A Burden of Flowers by Natsuki Ikezawa
I have always been fascinated with transient scapes, of the nomadic heart tied fast to centuries of culture-formation: of the concept of family, filial devotion, love across borders and boundaries, and of death; such burdens no Westerner of the post-nuclear age can understand.
Fandom: Persian Boy, Mary Renault
At its heart, it resonates with canon. I loved the tenderness between teacher and pupil, and how easily the fire was coaxed so that the relationship blazed from easy friends to passionate lovers. The author handled it all so gently and so masterfully, and she brought things to a conclusion that at a single stroke fills the heart and wounds it. I think this a great complement to the book.
This is the personal art site of a Japanese girl based in Vancouver named Nina Matsumoto, otherwise known as "Space Coyote".
This piece of anime-ish Simpsons fanart has got me going "Damn, I wish I thought of that!" because it is allegedly what landed Space Coyote into a job with Matt Groening. (Hot diggity damn! You go, girl!) The \"The Death Note\" rendered in The Simpsons' style just effin' busted my guts. I think Death Note fans will get a kick out of the it. It's hard to think of Death Note as a seriously dark manga after that.
bored people have come and gone through this page,
slipping away like light through the jalousies...
Have a confession? Did you like this site? Or do you hate it, and hate the guts of whoever came up with it?
So. Come and nag to your heart's content. Or, you could drop by my new guestbook c/o the beautiful people of Ur I.T. Mate Group.
